A clothesline strung across an abandoned village. The simplest and most evocative sign of life, like domestic flags. Not national flags making territorial claims. The clothes lines in villages are strung across the communal, common spaces, they share the wind and the warmth of the sun. It is not just the homes and village life that was lost but this way of sharing space without the need to claim possession of the elements.


the work should have been carried out in one of the Palestinian destroyed villages in 1948 but it is impossible due to the Israelis who does not allow such a project
